I just associate living on the water with warm climates!

Re your comment of a few days back about what the angel statue in the cemetery is writing. I think she's writing the names of people in a book that says who will be admitted to heaven!Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10924547158802290714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071605392067240587.post-4323305583893713952012-03-16T16:37:44.190-04:002012-03-16T16:37:44.190-04:00There are houseboats in the western U.S. and there...There are houseboats in the western U.S. and there are a number of areas in Seattle where people live on houseboats and, more commonly, just live aboard their regular boats. (The Tom Hanks character in "Sleepless in Seattle" lives on a houseboat, for example.) Houseboats for vacationing are rented on some larger recreational lakes. My husband has lived on boats but the idea of my whole home sinking makes me uncomfortable.Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02971991029290518107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071605392067240587.post-19234610547784436412012-03-16T09:50:50.123-04:002012-03-16T09:50:50.123-04:00@biebkriebels: at the weirdest moments it was extr...@biebkriebels: at the weirdest moments it was extremely crowded there. like friday lunchtime; big expensive cars. or ofcourse on a friday/saturday very late at night. it always made me sad. that this exists. beeeeggh.

@manon; but indeed, during the day this is a very nice path (eventually) to bike! we once did it with the lab for our day out. one colleague openly wondered why there was a lady standing outside in her bra??!!!
then she realized.... that as very funny.CaThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15448120621150624576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071605392067240587.post-17818383108113130012012-03-16T08:04:54.860-04:002012-03-16T08:04:54.860-04:00When we lived in Maarssen and wanted to go to the ...When we lived in Maarssen and wanted to go to the Flower Market in downtown Utrecht we used to bicycle over the Zandpad. Always very interesting how the bike path suddenly changes from a lovely rural scenery along the Vecht river into a very urban setting.Manonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071605392067240587.post-63018058294661832932012-03-16T07:14:46.285-04:002012-03-16T07:14:46.285-04:00Ha,ha,ha, so funny you come from houseboats to the...Ha,ha,ha, so funny you come from houseboats to the red light district. But you are right, we drove lately to Utrecht and we saw a whole queue of cars and houseboats below the highway. I realized that must be the red light district. So weird to see. But this american boat is just a tiny holidayhome I think.biebkriebelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01539958495933835606noreply@blogger.com
