in the open air museum they smoked herring and eel. i remembered that smell and all those fishies from when i was visiting the museum years ago, and nothing has changed..... this is in the house on the left in yesterdays picture. when going home we bought one of each to bring with us for dinner with friends. i liked it less than anticipated (the fish that is), so many little fish bones and too much of a hassle to clean it all.... but it was so pretty, seeing all that fish lined up!

What did you eat with the fish? Potatoes and beer?
I like smoked fish, but I prefer them boneless already.
Great shot!
That is a nice picture, I like the smell of the smoked fish, but hate to have bones in it. Always afraid one gets trapped in my throat.
Love this photo because I love smoked fish! As a very young child I lived in a town on the shore of Lake Michigan with a lively fishing industry and I learned to enjoy fish. To this day, fish is far more appealing to me than meat.
What a great shot! Just this week on the TV show Amazing Race, the contestants were in Norway, spearing fish heads and stringing them up to dry on huge outdoor racks. Do they attract flies or is it too cold for them?
steffe; no, olive-sourdough bread! (homemade).
im not that big a fan of fish, usually...
and antjas; hmmm, i dont know! now i wonder... i think i didnt see any when we were there, maybe they dont like the smoke?
