Purple lollipops

purple is my favorite color, since a while now, and these gigantic flowers were just amazing. they made for great photo opportunities for many people, young and old... :)
in the public garden, boston, on sunday afternoon.
after that we went to see the movie "beginners"; the father of the main character wears a purple sweater (actually, he wears a robe) when he tells his son he is gay, and now, after his wife passed away, wants to explore this side of himself... well.. it could have been a hilarious movie. or a very sad one. or both. but it was not really either of those.....

what beautiful flowers. I am curious about beginners but now that you did not like it so much.

I went to see Super 8, but did not think it was great. I liked the boys and the idea, but I think it would have been a much better movie with less blasts and destruction, a bit more like ET maybe....

yes, those flowers were real! from far i also doubted that, but they were for sure... and so beautiful...

ah, and sylvia: really? i loved the movie. i thought it was really good. beginners.. well.. it was funny, sometimes. and it was sad. and well... het was gewoon "net niet"! maar misschien vind jij het wel leuk!

Love the tie-in with Beginners. I saw it as well this past Sunday and am also at a loss trying to explain it. The dog was terrific.

You have a great eye for framing interesting photos.
