All shooting...!

when we were in san diego last weekend, me, tim and sylvia all had a camera.... but we didnt compare pictures! im actually curious how different they were....
during the week i hardly take any pictures. actually, i take none... :( so i always have to go through previous pics, and then i cannot decide at all which one to post. maybe i should install that on a set day each week i have to post a picture that i took that day.... in the weekend that will not be too much of a problem, so to make it harder perhaps i should choose a weekday.... ? lets see.... and which day? any suggestions?

Both shooting

this was in california this august, when we took a boat tour.... both of them were experiencing most of the ride through their lenses. they were not there together, and it looked so funny, sometimes they were both shooting one way, then the other, and sometimes it looked like above.... im curious who ended up with the better pictures.
currently, we dont have internet at home, which is very frustrating. so sometimes i goto the common room at our apartment complex, or, as right now, im forced togoto the mc donalds, and eat a sundae icecream while updating my blog... ;)
(as a result, i also cannot visit other blogs as often as i want... :((( , i hope we have internet soon again)

Five guys

i took this pic in san diego while i was there in july, somewhere close to the beach. i just liked this wall painting from john lennon and presumed this was some men's clothing store. only this week i found out its actually a burgerplace, and that there is one relatively close to our apartment; we often drive by it, but i just never saw it. this evening we went there as we were lazy and i was curious, it was supposed to be "really good". well, it is more expensive than mc donald's. but you can choose your toppings (although i dont always like having to do that). it was just that they did mine wrong and i got pickles instead of bacon (i do think thats quite a difference), and they thought we wanted to share 2 drinks and not 1 drink and 1 fries. thats a large number of mistakes in one order.... ah well, in a way it was ok, as we ordered a large fries but now got a small one; that was already too much for the 2 of us.
i was googling around a bit about this mural above. what does john lennon have to do with burgers and fries? nothing, it appears. even worse, the mural was there before five guys was. instead of five guys, it used to say imagine. and, tourists apparently often take pictures of this painting (including me).

Old news

accompanied with an old photo (taken while i was in san diego). a few weeks back i read on the news that someone from jersey shore was asked not to wear abercrombie clothes. of course, that kind of news brings many questions. what is abercrombie? jersey shore... ? well... abercrombie and fitch is a brand of clothes. every mall has a shop that sells this kind of clothes, but we never go inside; those stores smell horrible! from quite a distance you can smell this store, and googling a bit around, im not the only one noticing this. apparently, there are even protest groups asking to stop spraying around... (here; it seems to be also toxic?!). once we were just too curious, and we did go into this store, but it was once and never again; as someone else put it "you go from a bright, bubbly, fluorescent mall to a loud reeking cave. The only light in the place shines on the clothes. The ceilings, walls, and shelves are all painted black, and there’s no escape route in sight" (that person analyzed the entire store).
now... whats jersey shore? thats some sort of american reality series, and one of the stars,  Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino has been asked by the smelly store not to wear its clothes. (this guy is also named "the stiuation"; something just too weird to question). abercrombie stated this person wearing their clothes may be distressing to many of their fans.... hmmmpfff, just weird. i think they should rather just stop spraying their toxic smell and have normal shops...they did offer to pay this person not to wear their clothes anymore! well, i would like to get paid not to wear a certain brand... no problem! :)

Palm trees

palm trees are everywhere in san diego! literally everywhere and everything seems to look better because of them, even parking lots, or so i think...  according to wikipedia, palm trees are a popular symbol for the tropics and vacations. for me, palm trees were something from cartoons, and it was only when i went to a conference in spain that i saw palm trees in reality, and realized that they are not only in cartoons.... (stupid, huh).
but now im tired.... so good night!

Im in......

when i arrived last night it was dark already, all i could see were palm trees everywhere.... because i am in ... san diego!! i never went to this side of the us of a, while my friend sylvia lives there. while she has visited us already twice in boston, we never got to visit her so far!
but finally.... here i am, on the couch in her apartment! today we went to a photography museum, and had a walk through the park, and then a veeerrrrryyyyy long walk at the beach. so pretty! and a lot of people were enjoying the sun and the water.....  many people on bikes... isnt he gorgeous.. ? :D all like in the movies, but better!! ah, and tim just said this guy reminded him of the one we saw in texas, you can see him here... hihihihihihi.
my, it looks so different here, compared to boston, let alone the netherlands... hahahaha.
