How American!

while driving around boston (which is, i have to say it again, so very beautiful at this time of the year) i saw this house somewhere along the road. i think it was close to plymouth. the porch (i want a porch too!!), the chairs on it, so very american!! the size of the house, ofcourse. the power cable, haha. the flag. and the round banner-shaped flag, whatever that is; its beyond ugly anyways, and you see it adorning so many porches, windows, whatnot around here! and often rather faded by the sun.... still a pretty house... i guess i would just change the colors to something less patriotic, loose the flags, but mostly enjoy the space. i bet there is a big kitchen in it, too. a large back yard..... quite different from our small apartment....

Beautiful home. When ever I travel in the USA I am amazed at how patriotic Americans are. It seems like every home has the Stars & Strips flying from it.

Looks like a dollhouse to me. Without the porch and the bay window and in dark red instead of the blue this could be one of the summer cottages around here.

Very cute.

That's a different design from most of that era's houses. I haven't seen any porches in the middle like that. I think the banner is called "bunting," a sort of decorative flag or streamer. They used to decorate parade routes and such.

I suspect that this is a relatively new house built to look old. And, sorry, CaT, but you will find flags and banners everywhere in the USA.

Yes, I love those houses too, this one has a rather unusual shape, but to sit on a porch in a rocking chair is so american.
