Escaping inmates...

reading this sign on a rather empty road.... is kind of weird!
we didnt see any; i surely looked around whether i saw a scary inmate somewhere, luckily we were allowed to drive 75 miles/hour.... :) there is a novel titled "under the skin" by michel faber that is about someone picking up hitchhikers on an almost daily basis. thats all i knew when i started reading that book... and then i couldnt stop reading! it was so scary, but good at the same time... its one of those books that i read several years ago by now, but still think about every now and then (and definitely when i see or hear about hitchhikers). ooh! we just saw they are making a moving out of it (and there is already one from 1997), coming out this year with scarlett johansson... that might be interesting... (after reading the book, ofcourse).
sorry, still photos from our road trip! didnt take a single picture since we got back to boston....

There's a sign like this on one of the roads to where we live, a bit over an hour away. It says to not pick up hitchhikers, that there's a prison nearby. It's at the edge of a forested area so you end up wondering what's lurking in the trees. I'd never seen a sign like this before. I don't drive by often but find it disconcerting.

That looks scary, I can imagine all kind of horror scenarios behind the sign. I don't mind your posts about the road trip at all.

That is something you would never see in my area!

We have those all over Oklahoma in fact about 1 mile from where I grew up. My brothers car was stolen by escaping inmates. It is scary to look out your window at night and see road blocks!
