this is quite a crappy picture, but its to show you how close we were to alligators!! can you believe it? i couldnt.... i only saw those in the zoo!! today we drove from fort myers to miami, through the everglades. the weather was perfect, around 24 degrees celsius, and it was all very impressive. the trees, all the different birds, and then the alligators!! at this point just the plastic was seperating us from 3 alligators that were just lying around. haha, they were actually quite boring, just lying in the sun, not moving an inch...
tomorrow i will post another picture...
just realized that tomorrow is already the last day of 2011! the past week i kind of lost track of what day of the week and what date it is...

No thank you. That "fence" looks like it's strong enough to hold back branches in the wind, not a hungry alligator. I'd worry that they could go from boring to hungry too fast for my comfort.
Just a piece a plastic between you and an alligator??? I thought in US everything is so secure, check, check. The Everglades must be great to see I think, I missed that part. Hope you show some pictures of it. And have a nice "Oudejaarsavond".
yes, here there was not much "check check check". the real fence had gone down at this point, so i guess this was temporary...

I have had a few nightmares where gators have been present. You are really close here!
it was really not scary tho.. even though im the one in the picture there. the aligator looked like it wasnt going to move in 1000 years haha. i was trying to discern if it was breathing, you can see it on his stomach (not in this pic obviously ;)
